Obedience to JESUS—dying to self, doing whatever He wants in spite of the cravings of our flesh-renders liberty, with arms open wide, with bread and fish to give away with a shocking recognition for the outcast and despised, remembering that we were once that. This was true when JESUS walked the earth, and it is true today, in our post-Christian world, where the Christian faith is dismissed or despised and where Christian values are seen as the enemy of compassion, care, and diversity. --Rosaria Butterfield
