Each of us were born dead and we inherited this condition from Adam.  We call this the “sin nature” . . . “being in Adam” and it is a result of the Fall . . . Original Sin (Genesis 3).  As a result all humanity was separated from GOD and cut off from His acceptance.  And as a result of the Fall every person is in need of redemption . . . salvation . . . being restored to a relationship with GOD as He intended from the very beginning of time.

GOD’s plan to resolve this problem is extremely mysterious and mystical. What happened in GOD’s redemptive plan was to exchange His perfect and holy life with our sinful nature through His perfect Son (2 Corinthians 5:21). I do not fully comprehend it nor can I clearly explain it. But this great exchange is the foundation of my faith and it is the rock upon which Sight Ministry is built upon. It is truth applicable for all people not simply for individuals who have attractions to others of the same sex.

This redemptive work of GOD we call salvation is a two-sided coin. One side represents JESUS’ coming into the believer; the other side represents the believer’s coming into JESUS. He is in me, and I am in Him. It is a package deal; you can’t get one side at a time. For every verse in the New Testament stating that the believer in indwelt by CHRIST, you will discover ten verses stating that the believer indwells JESUS.

Through the redemptive event in a believer’s life GOD placed the believer in JESUS. JESUS went to the cross. Where were you? In Him! As JESUS was crucified, you, too, were crucified. As JESUS was buried, you, too, were buried. As JESUS was raised from the dead, you, too, were raised from spiritual death (Romans 6:4; Galatians 2:20).

Through this redemptive work GOD executed everything about you He could not tolerate in His holy presence (Romans 6:4; Colossians 2:12). What died? The old you, your old spiritual identity, was executed and replaced by a new you . . . HOLY SPIRIT has now taken up residence within you and He is now “life-ing out” the very life of JESUS within you and through you. In Christ you are a new person, you have a new identity.

In Christ, through His redemptive work, you were not only given a new present and a new future; you were also given a new past. You are no longer a spiritual descendant of Adam. You are now a spiritual descendent of GOD through Christ JESUS. We now have our Father’s eyes!

Through the redemptive work of GOD in JESUS you receive a completely new identity . . . a completely new nature . . . the very nature and identity of JESUS Himself. This exchange does not occur as a result of one’s behavior. It is based on who JESUS is and what He accomplished through His death, burial, and resurrection. As a result of being in CHRIST: You are justified (Romans 3:24); you are not condemned (Romans 8:1); you are fully and completely accepted (Romans 15:7); you are sanctified (1 Corinthians 1:2); you are righteous (2 Corinthians 5:21); you are a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17); you are a son/daughter (Galatians 4:7); you are holy and blameless (Ephesians 1:4); you are redeemed and forgiven (Ephesians 1:7); you are sealed with the Spirit (Ephesians 1:13); you are alive (Ephesians 2:5); you are already seated in heaven (Ephesians 2:6) and much more.

JESUS is now your life. He is living the same life through you that He lived through His own “earthsuit” when He walked the planet. It is birth, not performance that dictates one’s nature. We say if a person sins, he is a sinner. But GOD says a sinner is a sinner because he was born that way, and neither good nor bad performance can alter it.

The LORD never intended for you to try your best to live the Christian life. He placed His Spirit within you at redemption to live His life through you. He does His work of ministry on earth through you.

The exchanged life means we are totally accepted in CHRIST! It is not necessarily a feeling; it’s a fact. It is to be primarily believed, not felt. “It was for freedom that CHRIST set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery” (Galatians 5:1).
